A Letter from our Committee
Chairman: The "Focus Committee of the Market Research Initiative" is beginning a Comprehensive Marketing Campaign, utilizing "Great Stuff Is Made Locally," for a dialogue to identify and unify the promoting of tourism in the region. Also, to address the utilization of the available human resources, to be founded in the region, for economic growth and economic development in the four county regions, (Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties) This slogan, "Great Stuff Is Made Locally" is appealing because it is durable, smart and attractive "Generic" in its appearance. It is catchy and hip as a sound bite, as a message. "Great Stuff Is Made Locally" is profound and conveys a meaningful message. It easy to remember and cool to say. More important, it is "Generic" enough that it can be interchangeable, personalized to be applied/sold to promote anyone(as an individual) and/or anything (as a product) with no limitations in its presentation. The marketing slogans "I Love New York" and "New Jersey and You, Perfect Together" are good examples of "Generic" promotional marketing slogans. These two (2) slogans capture the essence of the adventure of the human spirit, the romantic appeal, individuality and personality of each state.
A quality and allure that is readily founded in the region of the Southern
Tier that needs to be
packaged, promoted and marketed. We are convinced that by linking to
the individual entrepreneurs, community business and to dramatize the
collective worth of the region is a valuable product in and of itself.
"Awareness - To the world and marketplace, but especially to oneself." |
